Katherine Jenkins has treated her fans to a very rare photo of her daughter Aaliyah Reign – and it’s the cutest! The classical opera singer shared the snap from the family’s outing to London Zoo on Saturday, and affectionately called her daughter a “cheeky monkey”. Aaliyah, who turns two in September, was pictured from the back, peering into the monkey enclosure at the famous children’s attraction.

“Spending a lovely day off with these two cheeky monkeys at @london_zoo #mummadaughterlove #aaliyahreign,” Katherine, 36, wrote on Instagram. The doting mum rarely shares photos of her little girl and tends to hide her daughter’s face for privacy. She occasionally gives fans glimpses into her family life, posting a recent one of herself and Aaliyah at a rehearsal for Carousel. Earlier this year Katherine took her daughter, who she shares with film director Andrew Levitas, on a holiday to Dubai. The singer wanted to spend as much time as possible with her little “munchkin” before rehearsals started.

Katherine and her American beau Andrew welcomed Aaliyah in September 2015, one year after they tied the knot in Hampton Court Palace. Katherine took seven months off after giving birth, to raise her little girl and adjust to motherhood. During an appearance on This Morning, she said: “I think when you have a daughter you think about your own relationship with your mum and my mum was the breadwinner of our family and she instilled a really good work ethic in me, so I want to have that with my daughter. Show her that I'm passionate about things and dedicated and we don't just live in a house that appeared from nowhere."

The Welsh beauty has recently been making headlines, after comments that David Beckham allegedly made about her were leaked online. The former footballer reportedly labelled Katherine's OBE a "joke" and referred to her previous reported drug use in one of the messages. Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Katherine admitted: "I'm a human being. Of course something like that would be hurtful. But at the same time, I've learned that when you're famous sometimes you get dragged into things you shouldn't be involved in. Sometimes people feel like they know you, but actually they know nothing about you."
