Although Ivanka Trump won't have a formal role in her father President Donald Trump's administration, it has been reported that the businesswoman will be given an office in the White House itself. The first daughter has allegedly been situated on the second floor next to senior adviser Dina Powell, and is currently in the process of obtaining security clearance.

According to her attorney Jamie Gorelick, Ivanka will not hold an official position or take a salary, but will serve as Donald's "eyes and ears" and will offer advice. In an interview with Politico on Monday, Jamie said: "Having an adult child of the president who is actively engaged in the work of the administration is new ground. Our view is that the conservative approach is for Ivanka to voluntarily comply with the rules that would apply if she were a government employee, even though she is not." In a statement, the mother-of-three said: "I will continue to offer my father my candid advice and counsel, as I have for my entire life. While there is no modern precedent for an adult child of the president, I will voluntarily follow all of the ethics rules placed on government employees."
