Rachel Stevens shot to fame in S Club 7, proving her talents at singing and dancing to millions of dedicated fans around the world. Now, the star is set to channel her skills in the kitchen, having been unveiled as the first contestant to join the new series of Celebrity Masterchef this summer, according to The Sun. And it seems that the mum-of-two is already a dab hand in the cooking department, with a source telling newspaper that Rachel "loves cooking and can’t wait to get into the kitchen.” Rachel’s fighting spirit has already been witnessed in another popular competition, where she was crowned in second place back in 2008’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, alongside her dance partner Vincent Simone.

And if in any doubt, Rachel has two mini judges to practice her cooking skills on in the lead-up to the competition – in the form of her two young daughters! The star is the proud mum to Amelie, six and two-year-old Minnie, who she shares with her husband Alex Bourne. Opening up about her role as a dedicated mother back in 2015, Rachel told HELLO!: “I'm naturally a worrier, but I think the second time round [with Minnie] I'm a lot more chilled as I feel like I know what I'm doing a bit more.” She added: “My children are my priority. I'm always thinking, 'Are they okay?' Amelie is starting school in September and there's so much to think about, making sure everything's sorted. You have to be really organised when you're working."

Previous winners of Celebrity Masterchef have included Alexis Conran, Ade Edmonson, Loose Women panelist Nadia Sawalha and Lisa Faulkner, who has since carved a newfound career as a celebrity chef after taking home the trophy back in 2010. The 43-year-old actress has said that the show had “totally changed my life,” having since released numerous cookery books and hosting various cooking programmes, including Real Food Family Cook Off with Matt Dawson in 2011, and What's Cooking alongside Ben Shephard in 2013.
