Zayn Malik's five-year-old cousin Arshiya Malik has died after losing her battle with a brain tumour. The former One Direction star's family took to their social media pages on Tuesday to share their heartbreak as they paid tribute to their "beautiful princess". Her mother Zileh Malik posted a lovely picture of her little girl, and in the caption she wrote: "An angel wrote in the book of life my baby's date of birth, then whispered as she closed the book.. 'Too beautiful for earth' R.I.P baby doll." She also added the hashtag #keeparshiyainyourduas.

Zayn's youngest sister Waliyha paid a touching tribute on Instagram: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Rest is peace you beautiful princess, may Allah grant you the highest rank of Jannah." She also tweeted: "R.I.P Arshiya my beautiful princess. We love and miss you all very much. Insha'Allah you are in a better place now with no pain anymore." Arshiya had been battling the brain tumour for the past few years and Zayn's family have often taken to social media to ask for fans for their prayers.
In 2014, her mother wrote: "Doctors have given up on Aryshiya but she is still fighting brave like a solider can everyone pls pray for her and anyone out there with a medical background any doctor who thinks they can help pls get in touch." "Please can everyone pray for Arshiya as much as you can as her MRI scan didn’t come out good," she wrote online. "Doctors are saying there’s nothing they can do and have put her on life support machines now. Please keep her in your duas always and the rest is up to Allah." Zayn is yet to publicly comment on the tragic news.
