Lisa Riley expressed her regret for not listening to her mum’s advice when it came to romance on Tuesday’s instalment of Loose Women. While discussing whether or not mums feel responsible for their children’s mistakes alongside co-presenters Coleen Nolan, Gloria Hunniford and anchor Ruth Langsford, the panelist revealed that her mum had blamed herself after she had a "failed relationship". “I met someone, it was all over the papers - a very, very failed relationship. It should've stopped and I should have listened to my mum,” she confessed, admitting that her mum's guilt had made her feel "horrendous."

Explaining the situation, Lisa said: "She basically took me to one side and said,'I'm blaming myself, because you've seen everything [that your dad and I loathe]."' The former Emmerdale star said of her mum: “She was so moralistic. She believed in true love and the romance.” Looking visibly upset, Lisa went on: “'I should never, ever, ever have done what I did and I will forever hate myself for it. But she completely took the blame herself and said, 'Why do you not wanna emulate me and dad?'"

Lisa was welcomed back to the popular daytime show last week, proudly showing off her incredible body transformation following corrective surgery to remove the excess skin after losing 11 stone. Opening up about her journey, she admitted that she's still "taking time" to digest it all. "It's incredible, it really, really is," she told the audience last Thursday. "I'm 12 and a bit stone now. I'm still getting used to it all myself. I'd never wear anything like this." Dressed in a vibrant red jumpsuit, the TV star happily added: "Five weeks ago to the day, I was there on the operating table. Still for me every day there's something new. I couldn't go on as I was, everything was moving and jigging around. I'd go to my Zumba class and it'd be so painful."

The former You’ve Been Framed host has been following a strict diet to keep her trim new figure. Revealing her eating regime on the show, she said: "I don't believe in fad diets, even though I have tried them before. I have no food after 6.30pm.”

Lisa even silenced her critics on the show by taking a lie detector test live on air in order to prove she had not fibbed about shedding the pounds by following a healthier lifestyle. "When I came on this show and the big weight loss was revealed, 93 per cent of people are supportive," she said while discussing her decision to take the test. "Basically, what's happened is the other few per cent are calling me a liar. One thing I'm not is a liar. What I've done is such a good achievement."

She added: "People who have had gastric bands, brilliant, good on you. I did this my way. All I want to do is help other women and men."
