Mo Adeniran was crowned the winner of The Voice on Sunday night, beating fellow finalists Into The Ark and Jamie Miller, who came second and third place respectively. The 21-year-old hotel worker, who was dubbed the bookies favourite to win, was showered with praise on Twitter following the exciting news. Jennifer Hudson, who had been coaching Mo throughout the competition, wrote: “Now that I’m kinda done crying..OMG!! CONGRATS @imjustcalledmo,” while celebrity viewer Gaby Roslin tweeted just before the results: “Goodness me! What a voice on @thevoiceuk #Mo #TeamJHud @IAMJHUD Should win this hands down! Incredible. True talent.” Another fan said: “Totally deserved! A massive congratulations Mo. You did awesome. Looking forward to hearing the Album. All the best to you.”

Jennifer, who also coached finalist Jamie, was also praised, with one fan tweeting: "Congrats Mo, well deserved and congrats Jennifer on becoming the first female coach to win." Mo's very first audition on The Voice caused all four judges to turn around in their chairs, resulting in him picking Jennifer as his mentor. Mo has now won a contract with Polydor Records, and is now set to record his winner’s EP, due to be released in a few weeks.

After host Emma Willis announced the news, the 21-year-old looked in disbelief, as Tom Jone’s act, Into The Ark went to hug him on his win. Gushing, he said: “Thank you everyone at home, just want to say thank you to Jennifer and all the coaches.” Mo caused the audience and judges to stand on their feet after his performance of Paolo Nutini's Iron Sky earlier in the show, leading to Jennifer praise him: "If that sound is not a representation of what The Voice is about, I don't know what is. Your sound is your own. It's timeless; it's something that doesn't come around every day. It's what I've been looking for since I've been here.” Following Jamie’s exit, Mo competed against Into The Ark, singing Unsteady by X Ambassadors.

The night before, Mo wowed fans with his duet with coach Jennifer, singing Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth and Emeli Sande, along with a solo performance of Don’t You Worry Child. The show also saw the judges wave goodbye to Will.i.am’s final contestant, Michelle John.

Reflecting on his favourite part of the show, coach Tom said: "My highlight is when we all sing together, the four coaches, when we do the coaches number. I love that."
