Wayne Rooney took to his social media pages to share a loving tribute to his wife Coleen as she celebrated her 31st birthday on Monday. Sharing a gorgeous picture of his partner and their three sons - Kai, seven, Klay, three, and 16-month-old Kit - the professional footballer gushed: "Happy Birthday to my wife and the best mum to our boys @ColeenRoo." The picture sees Coleen looking every inch the doting mother as she cuddles up to her children. Fans were quick to send their well-wishers as she marked her special day with her loved ones.

"Beautiful family, happy birthday Coleen hope your man spoilt you," wrote one follower, while another remarked: "Happy birthday to mama captain, got so much love for you. Kai will give you a kiss from me, enjoy the day." The night before, the Manchester United striker treated his wife to a lavish date night at fancy Chinese restaurant Tattu. "Nice meal last night to start @coleen_rooney birthday celebrations," he wrote next to a picture of the pair of them.

Wayne and Coleen, who have been together since they were 16, and were married in 2008, often take to their respective social media pages to share photos of their family. Last week, the 31-year-old footballer praised his wife for being an incredible mum to their three boys in honour of Mother's Day. He said: "Happy Mothers Day @coleen_rooney. Thanks for everything you do for us, we love you."

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with HELLO!, Coleen recently opened up about the pressures of being a working mum. "My favourite part is the love that they show towards you," explained the fashion designer. "How much they rely on you – you are their everything. To know that this little person is relying on you so much and that you are bringing them up and developing them, it's a massive achievement and you get so much out of that." She added: "I think you have to understand each other and know that they can always come to you to talk to you about anything, no matter when or where." When asked if she would like to expand her brood, Coleen replied: "I'm not sure, at the moment we are pretty content and we have got a lot to juggle. I don't know, but I would never say never - I have always said that I would like a big family but at the minute I'm not really thinking about it!"
