Matthew Underwood, who is best known for his role as Logan Reese in Zoey 101, has been called a hero after rescuing a four-month-old baby from the scene of a car crash after the parents had passed out from taking drugs. The actor was with his brother when he saw the accident, and carried the baby out of the car while his brother called the police.

Matthew spoke about the incident

In a video obtained by TMZ, Matthew spoke about the incident. "I was assuming somebody had a heart attack and I walked up to the car I saw the person in the front seat slouched over, but then I looked into the backseat and saw someone else slouched over and thought, 'No way', and that's when I heard the baby crying," he explained. "I couldn't even think about. So I ran around and got the baby out of the car and at first I didn't know how to take a car seat out then I realised it wasn't even strapped in and I was like, 'Thank goodness I can get it out quickly,' and thought, 'Who does that?'"

Matthew filmed the parents in the car at the time, and explained to TMZ that he wanted to "document the scene", just in case. The parents have now been charged with child neglect and drug possession, and the baby is being taken care of by a family member. This isn't the first time Matthew has helped the law. In 2016, he shared a clip of some police cars on Instagram, writing: "Sooo cops just chased a suspect through my backyard and lost him... At my back yard! We were hanging outside when they come storming up and the pursuing officers STOP right at my property line as the suspect goes barrelling through. I appreciate the respect of my privacy guys but the safety of the community supersedes that in my book. Good luck out there #PSLPD and #StLucieSherriffs - Stay Safe!"
