It's been three years since Melanie Griffith ended her 18-year marriage from third husband Antonio Banderas. And in a new interview, the Hollywood actress has revealed she is struggling to find a new partner as her failed marriages have left her feeling "reticent" towards men. Speaking in The Times' T2 supplement, Melanie addressed the reason behind the end of her relationship with Antonio.

"Part of the reason my marriage ended is because... I personally got stuck and I won't let that happen again, I want to enjoy life, I want to do whatever I want to do," she explained. "I'm shy with men now, very reticent. I haven't met anyone in the almost two years we have been divorced." The former couple confirmed their split in June 2014; they have one child together, Stella Banderas, who's now 20. Melanie is also mother to Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson, 27, and Alexander Bauer, 31, both from previous husbands.

Antonio and Melanie fell in love while shooting the 1995 romantic comedy Too Much, and were married the following year. The 56-year-old actor has since moved on, and is in a relationship with Nicole Kimpel, a Dutch investment consultant. Melanie was first married to Don Johnson for six months in 1976. She then wed her She's In The Army co-star Steven Bauer in 1982 before their divorce in 1987. Melanie and Don remarried in 1989 but they split in 1995 and their divorce was finalised in 1996 - the same year that Melanie and Antonio were married.

Last year, Melanie spoke candidly about life following the end of her marriage to Antonio. She told People: "I'm having an introspective time right now. It's an interesting time. It's just sort of nice. My kids are all great. They're beautiful people." The actress added: "I'm single, and lonely, and bored, and confused - but then at the same time, totally curious. It's almost like I have to throw myself out of the nest."
