Josh Groban took some time out of his busy schedule to sing Leonard Cohen's iconic song Hallelujah with some very lucky students at P.S. 91 elementary school in Bronx, New York on Saturday (Apr. 2) afternoon. The singer-songwriter posted the breathtaking performance on Instagram alongside a note of gratitude. "Thanks PS 91 kids for pulling me up to sing Hallelujah with you!" wrote the 36-year-old.
The Los Angeles native also posted a photo gallery on Instagram of him embracing the students and giving them a little music lesson. In the caption, the You Raise Me Up singer further thanked the school for an "inspiring afternoon". The multi-talented star stated: "Thank you Kathy Damkohler executive director of Education Through Music and Principle Meredith Struhl Nasjlett."
Josh also complimented the children on their spectacular voices and ambition, “[thank you to] the students for their glorious voices and focus and drive… Future leaders in the making.” It’s been a busy few months for the GRAMMY winner, who continues to promote his latest album Stages Live in addition to lending his voice to the soundtrack for the live adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. Josh’s song “Evermore” is featured alongside stunning ballads sung by Celine Dion, John Legend and Ariana Grande.
