The springtime sun finally came out this weekend and The One Show presenter Alex Jones made the most of the good weather with a group of her girlfriends. The popular TV host, who gave birth to her first child Teddy in January, shared a lovely photo with her Instagram followers on Saturday. The black and white photograph showed the new mum with six female friends posing in their sunglasses wearing summery tops and pulling funny faces for the camera. Alex, wrote: “All the filters #40th#bestoffriends #sunglassesmakethingsbetter#sunnydays #westisbest”. The presenter has recently turned 40 herself, so it’s unclear whether the ‘40th’ hashtag referred to her own birthday or a friend’s. Either way, the ladies certainly seemed to be having a good time on their girls’ day together. One follower wrote on her page: “You all are looking so gorgeous, absolutely stunning.”
Alex has been enjoying the warmer weather during her maternity leave from The One Show. A few days before, the star posted a photo of Teddy’s pram in a sunny park, captioned: “Long walks in the spring sunshine with Little Teddy is my favourite way to spend the afternoon. I'm going to miss days like this when the time comes. #justthetwoofus #maternityleave#newmother.” Last weekend she appeared in You Magazine for her first post-baby photoshoot and said about returning to The One Show: “I’ll probably work part time in the beginning. I don’t want to miss Teddy’s milestones.” The presenter explained that she’ll likely be back on our screens in spring.

Alex and husband Charlie Thomson became parents to little Teddy – full name Edward Alan Burrell Thomson - in January. He was born at the Hammersmith and Fulham hospital weighing 7lbs 11oz. On her new arrival, she said: "It was all very straightforward. Charlie was with me and mum and dad were in the waiting room… We're in this bubble the three of us. It's just the best time." Shortly after the birth, Alex called The One Show and said on air: "We're a bit behind on the whole name thing because we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl. We thought, 'When we see him we'll know what he looks like', but actually it's really hard."
