Justin Theroux has opened up about his wife Jennifer Aniston's "low-key" birthday celebrations, which took place in Mexico earlier this year. The star of The Leftovers has revealed that Jennifer had an intimate party, with her very nearest and dearest. "We went to Cabo San Lucas and sat in the sun and had a little party," Justin told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres on the comedian's show. "We threw a little party, we had a piñata, gave her some gifts and that was about it – low-key," said Justin, adding: "It was fabulous."
Ellen then reminded Justin that she and wife Portia de Rossi had invited the couple to go on holiday with them. "Jen had a plan, another plan, which prevented me from going," said an apologetic Justin. "I could have gone alone with you."

The actor, 45, recently opened up about shopping for his wife's birthday presents. Justin, who married the former Friends actress in 2015, explained that he starts shopping in November. "It's always a critical moment because I have Christmas, her birthday and Valentine's Day in pretty short order, so I start shopping in November," he told Extra.
"It's usually something that is the easiest thing in the world – a snuggie. Or I'll figure out something like that, something fun. I've given up on mass pieces of jewellery or clothes. She's got all that. It's usually something like an amazing pair of flip-flops, something she can get cosy with."
He added that the couple didn't end up using the piñata in Cabo, saying: "Actually, we didn't put anything in the piñata. We had a piñata and didn't end up smashing it. What are you going to put in it? Kale? She doesn't eat candy!"
While the couple celebrated Jennifer's 48th birthday in private, Justin did give fans a glimpse of their Mexican holiday. He took to Instagram to share a rare selfie of the pair posing in front of palm trees, with birthday girl Jennifer blowing a kiss at the camera.
