The news of Ricky’s casting comes on the heels of other A-list stars joining producer Ryan Murphy’s dream team which includes Edgar Ramirez as Versace, Darren Criss as Andrew Phillip Cunanan and Penelope Cruz as Donetella Versace. This won’t be Ricky’s first time flexing his acting chops. The Puerto Rican singer had a guest spot on Ryan’s hit Fox series Glee and did runs on Broadway in both Evita and Les Miserables.

Ricky recently opened his All In residency in Las Vegas

Ahead of production, Ricky is sticking to his roots on the stage. On Wednesday, the Shake Your Bon Bon singer opened his Las Vegas residency All In at the Park Theatre at the Monte Carlo resort. "Thirty seconds into the show and I'm drenched,” he told Entertainment Tonight in March. "It's a good energy show. We start with one of the biggest hits and then we have lots of highs and lows. We're gonna go through the romantic side of life in general, and then we're gonna unite cultures." Meanwhile, on Thursday in NYC, Darren Criss and Edgar Ramirez walked the carpet at the FX Upfronts.

Versace: American Crime Story will air in 2018.
