Liam Payne has spoken for the first time about becoming a father, just one month after his girlfriend Cheryl gave birth to their baby son. The One Direction star, who is currently working on his new music in America, happily stopped to talk to fans as he headed outside of a restaurant in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. One fan, called Pedro Ramirez, took to Twitter to claim that the 23-year-old is missing his little boy, by writing: "He's great, he’s good. I love him and I miss him a lot."

Another Twitter account remarked: "I met Liam tonight and we talked about his son! He said he is doing well and that he misses him very much." Earlier this week, social media went into overdrive after Cheryl's hair stylist Daya Ruci shared a Snapchat photo and video of a baby boy. The new mum's stylist captioned the first photo of the baby's hand holding her finger: "Sweetest," before sharing a short clip of the baby's outfit and booties while carefully keeping his face concealed.

Why Cheryl and Liam are the perfect match
It's coming up to a month since Liam and Cheryl announced the arrival of their bundle of joy. Cheryl, 33, posted a snap of Liam cradling their child, and captioned: "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever."
