Despite ending their relationship nearly four years ago, it's clear that Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have remained the best of friends. The British star took to his Instagram page on Thursday to post a beautiful message to his ex-wife, as she celebrated her 34th birthday. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY to an amazing mother, co-parent, and friend," the actor wrote, alongside an image of a wooden plank which read, "I love you mum" - clearly, a gift from their son Flynn.
The former couple have stayed on good terms since their split in 2013 after three years of marriage. In November, Miranda - who is engaged to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel - revealed that she fell into a "really bad depression" following the end of her relationship with the Lord of the Rings star. "My mum used to call me a 'giggling Gert' because I was always laughing, even in my sleep," she told ELLE Canada. "When Orlando and I separated, I actually fell into a really bad depression. I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person."

The Australian model confessed that their five-year-old son's happiness will always come first, no matter what. "The most important thing is that when he has his time with me, we have quality time together, and when he's with his dad, he has quality time with him," she added. "And it works out really well because I book in my photo shoots for the time he's with his dad, and the rest of the time I just get to be a mum."

With Miranda now engaged to Evan, Orlando has since moved on with Katy Perry. However, in March this year, the A-list couple announced the end of their one-year romance. In a bid to prevent exaggerated rumours from flying around the internet, their representatives stated: "Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time."
