Hours after pictures of the pair out together surfaced online, various media outlets were quick to credit sources claiming to know the truth about their relationship. Just Jared cited a source as saying, "Justin does deeply love Hailee [but] she is a friend but nothing more" while TMZ reported that the two are indeed lovebirds and were introduced by their shared pastor, Carl Lentz.
This isn’t the first time that the Sorry singer and Pitch Perfect 2 star sent the rumour mill into over drive. In March, Justin was caught by paparazzi Facetiming the 20-year-old actress, which caused a frenzy on social media.
One look at Hailee's social media account and it’s clear to see that her heart is taken – and not by Justin Bieber. The singer-actress has been in a long-term relationship with Cameron Smoller since last year and went public with the romance in January at a W Magazine party in Los Angeles.
Justin on the other hand is single and ready to mingle. Since splitting with Selena Gomez in 2015, the Stratford native has been linked to Hailey Baldwin and Sofia Richie.
