David Beckham was showered with presents and well-wishes by his beloved family as he celebrated his 42nd birthday on Tuesday. The retired footballer could not help but gush about the love he received from his children - particularly the personalised hair brush which was seemingly from his daughter Harper. Taking to his Snapchat account, the father-of-four simply wrote: "Gift of the day (daddy)." He also took to Instagram to post a beautiful, black and white snap of himself, surrounded by his kids - Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and Harper, five. He captioned the image: "A lot of Love for Daddy today @victoriabeckham @brooklynbeckham @cruzbeckham @romeobeckham #@HarperSeven photo by mummy."

STORY: The Beckham family wish David a happy birthday!
Earlier this year, David gave fans an insight into the Beckham household during an appearance on Radio 4's iconic show Desert Island Discs. He revealed: "Of course you make mistakes over the years. We all know marriage is difficult at times and it's about working through it. Whenever we've come up against tough times, we know each other better than anybody knows us so we talk." He added: "Do we stay together because it's a brand? Of course not. We stay together because we love each other. We stay together because we have four amazing children. Of course we go through tough times. When we go through tough times we work through it as a unit, as a family."
