A sandwich shop in Canada had quite the surprise after they promised Liam Neeson a free sandwich as a joke – and he actually arrived to collect it! The staff wrote a fun message on their outside board that read: "Liam Neeson eats here for free," and "Come in and get taken away by our sandwiches", and tweeted their delight after the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe actor came into their shop to meet the employees and of course, take home his free sandwich.

The star is reportedly currently filming a new film titled Hard Powders in Canada, and the director of operations for the Big Star sandwich shop told BuzzFeed: "We had no idea he would be in our vicinity. I assume someone on the film crew saw the sign and got it back to him. As you can see in the photo, they're about as stoked as they've ever been in their lives."

People were quick to comment on the brilliant snap of Liam posing with Big Star's employees, with one writing: "Noooooo! I did NOT miss Liam Neeson today. Please tell me this is not real," another added: "I don't know where you are. But I will find you and I will eat there." Liam recently reprised his role in a Love Actually Comic Relief special, and opened up about the emotional impact of doing a follow-up 14 years after the original. He told Entertainment Weekly: "It's 14 years ago now and we've all lived lives. Some of us have died. Oh my dear old friend Alan Rickman, God rest him. Some have gotten divorced. I've lost my wife… And oh sure, plenty of times I've thought about this film and my own life. Love Actually, that's the way it is. That's the tapestry of life."
