Adele knows how to celebrate in style and to mark her 29th birthday on Friday, the star chose a different style completely. The Rolling in the Deep singer had a little fun and decided to dress up as Catherine Tate’s much-loved character ‘nan’. Adele posted a photo montage of herself in fancy dress on her Instagram page with the caption: “Nearly 30! Thanks for the well wishes. See you soon x.” The comical pictures show smiling Adele with frizzy hair, a pink cardigan and glasses. Her followers found the photos hilarious, with one remarking: “Looking like Catherine Tate's gran lol loving it.” Another said: “I didn't recognize you at first, happy birthday.” A third joked: “Hahaha old but still gold.”
Adele’s social media fun comes just days after she was named the wealthiest solo female musician in the Sunday Times Rich List. The mum-of-one earned £40m in the last year alone, increasing her total wealth from £85m to a huge £125m. It’s been a great start to the year for Adele, who has just completed the Australian leg of her tour to rave reviews. During one concert, Adele confirmed she had married her partner Simon. While discussing the early days of falling in love, the British singer reportedly told the audience, "And I am addicted to that feeling. Obviously, I cannot go through those feelings because I'm married now. I've found my next person." The happy couple, who met in 2011, are the proud parents of a son named Angelo.

Adele has clearly been in a jovial mood recently. Last week, The Sun revealed that the singer bought an entire stock of greeting cards, which have her face emblazoned across them and the words: “Hello, it’s me”. Adele apparently surprised shop staff at Peter Jones department store in London's Sloane Square with her actions. "Adele walked right up to the shelf and took the lot. She found it hilarious," a source told the publication. "The staff couldn't believe she was in there, let alone her choice of purchase. She said she was going to send them to all her friends."
