Olympic diving star Tom Daley has married screenwriter Dustin Lance Black in a romantic Shakespeare-themed wedding, according to a report in The Sun. The private ceremony is believed to have taken place on Saturday with 50 of the couple’s close friends and family at Bovey Castle in Dartmoor national park near Plymouth. The paper reports that Tom, 22, reenacted the famous scene from Romeo and Juliet on the castle’s balcony, before he exchanged vows with partner Dustin, 42. The happy couple are said to have hired the 58-room hotel for the weekend, with Lance’s family joining the celebrations all the way from California. After the ceremony, the wedding party reportedly enjoyed a sumptuous meal and partied late into the night in the venue’s ballroom.

Just days before the wedding, diver Tom was admitted to hospital. On Thursday evening, the athlete shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed on Instagram with his fans. Alongside the image, the 22-year-old wrote: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. #AthleteLife. Back on board soon." Thankfully, Tom appears to have recovered in time for his wedding to Dustin. The pair first met back in 2013 and announced their engagement in October 2015.

Earlier this year, Tom opened up about the wedding, and revealed that he and Dustin were busy making decisions about their big day. "It's all going well, we're looking at dates, but everything is staying under wraps at the moment," he told the Mirror. "Who knows what it's going to be like, I haven't been to a wedding since I was five, so I have no idea. We just want to do what we like. We'll just make it us."

The wedding comes six months after the couple were rocked by cheating allegations. But they now appear to be stronger than ever. Speaking previously about their romance, Dustin said: "It's really amazing to be in love with someone who you also admire and who you can be dazzled by. It makes me want to be a better person. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world."
