David Beckham recently added acting to his long list of credentials, having landed a cameo role in his good friend Guy Ritchie’s much-anticipated film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. On Wednesday night, he attended the premiere in London with his eldest son, Brooklyn, 18, who proudly posed next to his father on the red carpet. Earlier in the day, the father-of-four upload a behind-the-scenes preview video on his Facebook page ahead of the movie’s release on 19 May. The footage, captioned: "It was a pleasure to work with the King Arthur: Legend of the Sword team on such an amazing film #KingArthur," shows David getting his make-up done on set for his role as 'Blackleg leader' Trigger. Opening up about working with his friend, he said: "Guy is a good friend of mine and I trust him. I had one or two lines..I have been around Guy’s movies before and it’s a great place to be, you love that community feel."

Meanwhile, over on Instagram, doting wife Victoria also shared the video with her followers, writing alongside it: "So proud of @DavidBeckham! @Kingarthurmovie x VB."  David stars in the film alongside Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law and Poppy Delevingne.

The 42-year-old first let fans know of his role in Guy's new film a few weeks ago, when he shared a photo of himself backstage in makeup. The picture showed David with a very realistic-looking scar on his face. He captioned the snap: "Rough day at the office @kingarthurmovie @guyritchie."

King Arthur is a new challenge for father-of-four David, who has been keeping a low profile of late, appearing to spend more time at home with his children while his wife Victoria pursues her career as a fashion designer. Speaking to The Times newspaper last year, David revealed his acting aspirations: "I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed," he said. "I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice."
