Liam Payne has excited fans after confirming his debut solo single on social media on Thursday. The singer posted a preview video of the new song on Instagram, captioned: “Mad excited to announce my new single Strip That Down ft. @quavonhuncho out May 19th.” Followers rushed to compliment the former One Direction star, with one writing: “I’ve watched this at least 100 times in the last 10 minutes,” while another said: “Omg I’m so excited!!! Thank you!” A third noted: “Sounds a bit like Justin Timberlake."

The 23-year-old teased fans with another video on social media earlier in the day, with both offerings showing off his toned torso and tattooed arms.
The British pop star flew to America to start his promotional tour, with his first stop in Chicago. He kept fans up-to-date of his journey, including a post which showed him boarding a private jet and taking a nap as he headed to his next stop in Atlanta. Liam is no doubt missing Cheryl and their young son.

The One Direction star proudly spoke about his little boy with his girlfriend while meeting fans in Chicago for a Q&A this week, and disclosed that he sometimes calls the new arrival 'Cub'. Members of the public took to Twitter to share snippets of the conversation from backstage at B96 Radio Station on Wednesday. One wrote: "Here's my experience with Liam Payne… He doesn't remember what he last googled, he uses Air Pods and often gets mistaken for talking to himself. He loves In & Out Burger and Red Bull…"
Liam and Cheryl, who went public with their romance last year in February, became proud parents to their little boy on 22 March. The former X Factor judge shared their happy news with the world on her Instagram page, writing: "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever."
