Julia Roberts' dog, Major, went missing in Malibu earlier this week, but was found and brought home safe and sound thanks to Nextdoor, a neighbourhood social network which connects people living in the same area to each other. After Major went for a wander by himself, a neighbour spotted the pooch at Little Dume Beach near Point Dume in Malibu, and took him home, posting 'Found Chocolate Lab' sign with a picture of the pooch on the app.

Julia's husband, Daniel Moder, was quick to see the post and got in touch with the person who had found Major. The dog was safely returned to his relieved owners. The CEO of Nextdoor, Nirav Tolia,  tweeted: "We've celebrated many important milestones at Nextdoor, but this takes things to a new level."

Julia recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and opened up about George and Amal Clooney's twins. "It's going to be so fun," she said at the time. "They are a great couple and I think they don't need advice from me or anybody else. Also, you know, nobody's there with you at 3 o'clock in the morning when you're just going, 'What am I doing? Where did they come from and when are they going?'"

She added: "And then you sort of, you get through it and you figure it out and everybody does and it's a trial and error and a whole lot of tears and it's amazing." Talking about her own children, 12-year-old twins Hazel and Phinn and nine-year-old Henry, she continued: "I have three incredible kids and to think about when they were teeny-tiny... it goes so fast."
