Mindy Kaling is expecting her first child

Mindy Kaling shown off a hint of a baby bump promoting her show The Mindy Project during a press tour. The 38-year-old, who is known for her roles in The Office and Inside Out, wore a black dress with sheer sleeves as she chatted about the new season of her show. Various sources confirmed that the star was expecting her first child earlier this week, with an insider telling E! News that it was an "unexpected surprise" for Mindy.

Mindy spoke on a panel 

Although not much is known about Mindy's pregnancy, the actress previously opened up about the possibility to having children, telling Yahoo! Style: "I think I've decided that unlike everything else in my life, I'm going to be fast and loose about kids. I'm going to not actively plan, but if it happens, it would happen."

Mindy is reportedly expecting her first child

During the panel, Mindy caused a stir by revealing that Chris Messina would be returning to The Mindy Project for its final season. Chris played Danny Castellano, Mindy's main love interest, and the news was met with a mixed reaction from fans. One person tweeted: "Yassssssssss hallelujah Danny is back. I've been waiting for a Mindy reunion for too long," while another added: "I don't know how I feel about this." Others were quick to discuss potential storylines, with one writing: "I honestly hope this doesn't mean Mindy and Danny getting back together. As much as I loved them before, they are broken beyond repair."
