Doting mum Katie took to her Instagram account on Wednesday to mark National Daughter Day, posting a black-and-white photo of the pair – who were all smiles as they posed for the camera. The photo, which was simply captioned with a series of love heart and pink bow emojicons and the hashtag #nationaldaughterday, went down a treat with fans, who couldn’t believe just how similar the pair are. "She looks so much like you," one wrote, while another added: "Your mini me." A third said: "Katie Holmes' lookalike daughter."

Suri is Katie's only child, who she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, and it is clear that the actress puts her daughter's needs first. "When I'm not on set, I'm being a mum. I'm doing mum stuff," the 38-year-old actress told Modern Luxury. And while Katie is often spotted out and about on the red carpet, she makes sure she is back in time for Suri: "When I go to an event, I leave at 10 pm because it’s really important to me to be a mum that is dependable."

She added: "I think the most important thing in my life is giving my child the childhood I want her to have. That comes first. That dictates where I work and when I work because it’s my main job right now.''
It is clear that the pair have a lot of fun together too. Katie recently shared a photo of the pair going on the hunt for treasures in a vintage store in New York, with Suri seen trying on a hat. Last month, meanwhile, the pair enjoyed celebrating Katie's sister's birthday in the star's hometown of Ohio, where they were joined by Katie's siblings and parents.
