Andy Murray is recovering in hospital following surgery on his hip. The injury has forced the former world number one, 30, to pull out of this month's Australian Open - leaving his chances to play in Wimbledon in doubt. However, the sports star has revealed that the thought of his children has kept him going in recent weeks, and said he hopes to be back on court in the near future so his eldest daughter Sophia, who is nearly two, can watch him play. "I have spoken to my wife a bit about it," the tennis ace said. "One of the things that I would like to do is play until my eldest daughter is able to watch me and have a small understanding of what it is I've done for my living."

Andy, who has two daughters with wife Kim Sears, added: "That's one of the things that's motivated me to keep playing. That would be cool if she can come along and watch me hit some balls or practice, just to see what it is I do." The three-time Grand Slam champion has not played a competitive match since he was knocked out of Wimbledon in July. "I like seeing a lot of the other (players') kids when they are on tour with their parents, who get to do a bit of travelling with them when they're at an age when they actually understand a bit more about what it is that they're doing," he continued. "Now I've had surgery and stuff, that's something I'm looking forward to in the future."

Andy has now fallen to 19th in the world, but remains "positive" about the future. Earlier this week, Andy took to his Instagram page to share a picture from his hospital bed. "A little post op photo," he wrote in the caption. "I'm feeling really positive and looking forward to starting rehab. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and support the last few days.. It really helps. And everyone try and find a partner who looks at you the way @jamie__delgado looks at me."
