The stars are shining extra bright in Tinseltown today as some of Hollywood's favourite faces celebrate their birthday on 15 April. Harry Potter alum Emma Watson is turning 28, national treasure Emma Thompson will be 59 while Luke Evans is marking his 39th birthday. As we take a look at what they've been up to recently, we wish these three talented stars many happy returns…
Emma Watson turns 28
The actress and UN Women Goodwill ambassador has been campaigning hard for gender equality and women's rights this past year. Emma was one of many celebrities who showed their support for the Time's Up movement, but the English Rose went one step further by having the words tattooed on her arm. Emma later clarified that the inking was fake, joking that she needed someone to proofread her tattoos in future after fans noticed an apostrophe was missing. The Harry Potter actress spearheaded a new UK part of the Time's Up movement, and donated an incredible £1million to the victims of sexual harassment.
Emma Thompson turns 59
The Sense and Sensibility actress will most likely be marking her special day with her husband, actor Greg Wise, and their two children in private. The Hollywood veteran is much loved by the British public and her fans across the world; Emma has appeared in 44 films and more than 20 TV shows. The two-time Oscar winner recently starred in the Upstart Crow Christmas Special, playing red-haired monarch Queen Elizabeth I. Emma was notably absent from the Love Actually sequel for Comic Relief last year, saying it was "too soon" to revisit the movie following the death of her friend and co-star, Alan Rickman.
Luke Evans turns 39
The star of The Girl on the Train actually has something else in common with his birthday friends Emma Watson and Emma Thompson. Luke starred in Disney's live action remake, Beauty and the Beast, playing Gaston opposite the Harry Potter actress, who starred as Belle. Emma Thompson, meanwhile, played Mrs. Potts. Luke is currently starring in The Alienist, and will appear in State Like Sleep, 10x10 and Anna later this year.
