Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott are officially a couple!
On Oct. 20, the former New Girl star posted a very special picture to Instagram showing her with Jonathan of Property Brothers fame, confirming the two are in fact dating. Jonathan’s brother Drew Scott and his wife Linda Phan were also in the picture!
The image shows the couples at the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, with Zooey playing at being terrified her boyfriend held her in his arms.
“Still processing how scared I was of these people dressed in spooky masks,” she wrote.
Things got really adorable in the comments, with Jonathan commenting, “Wait… you didn’t post the pic of you holding me up!”
“Shhhhh… I don’t want people to know how strong I am,” Zooey replied.
The couple were first rumoured to be dating last month, when a source told Entertainment Tonight that their relationship was in its early days. The two met while filming Carpool Karaoke , which also involved Drew, and were later spotted heading to dinner together in Los Angeles’ Silverlake neighbourhood.
“Zooey and Jonathan kept looking at each other and smiling and sat closely, cuddling constantly throughout their meal,” a source told HollywoodLife at the time. “They looked very happy and casual… They seemed giddy about one another and held hands as they arrived and whispered to each other often. It was really sweet.”
On Sept. 6, Zooey and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, announced they were separating . The two were married in 2015 and have two children together: Elsie, 4, and Charlie, 2. On Sept. 14, Jacob spoke to HollywoodLife about their decision to separate.
“Everything is amicable and we have two beautiful children together,” he said. “We’ve been raising them and we’re going to continue to raise them, and take great care of them… I’m happy.”
Jonathan was married to Kelsy Ully from 2007 to 2010 and the couple divorced in 2013. From 2009 to 2012, Zooey was married to former Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard .
