Britney Spears has been hospitalised after seemingly suffering a freak accident while dancing. The Oops I Did It Again singer's boyfriend Sam Asghari shared the news with fans on Instagram, revealing poor Britney has broken a bone in her foot. Captioning a series of photos of themselves in hospital as the singer had her leg put in a cast, Sam wrote on Tuesday: "When you break something it tends to heal stronger specially when you’re my Girl. My lioness broke her metatarsal bone on her foot doing what she loves which is dancing. Wishing her the best recovery so she can jump, run, and dance her butt off #stronger." Sam also wrote the word "Stronger" along Britney's cast, perhaps in reference to her hit 2000 single of the same name.

It is unclear when the injury occurred or how long Britney was in the hospital. However, photos of the pop star from last Wednesday show her walking around in a boot, so it's likely the accident occurred last week.

The 37-year-old has been dating Sam since late 2016 after meeting on the set of her Slumber Party music video. The model supported her through her health struggles last year, which saw her cancel her tour and enter a mental health facility to seek help. In April, Britney resurfaced on social media to address reports that she was being held against her own will at the facility, and reassured fans that "all is well".
