How to Spend It Well on Holiday host Phillip Schofield recently surprised his fans with an anecdote about how he lost a friend over an accidental text message. During a phone-in segment on This Morning back in September, the presenter told co-host Holly Willoughby and Vanessa Feltz: "I lost a friend because of it." The trio were chatting about text blunders as the topic of their discussion. Explaining how the message was supposed to be for his wife Stephanie Lowe, he said: "I mean I still don't regret that I did it. I was just being honest. But what I sent to Steph, went to the wrong person."

Both Phillip and Steph have been married since 1993. They have since welcomed two children together, their eldest daughter, Molly is 26, and their youngest, Ruby is 23. Steph has been supportive of Phillip after he came out as gay back in February, and the family recently spent their half-term break together Paris.

During his candid interview on This Morning, Phillip opened up on how supportive his wife has been throughout. "I've never had any secrets [from her], we've never had any secrets," he said. "We've been honest and open. And as I said, I can't write in any statement what I feel about that woman. She is amazing. She is incredible, there is no one in my life who would have supported me the way, as a wife, as the way she has supported me. She is astonishing, literally astonishing."
