Phew! I've finally got all my cards delivered and presents wrapped and under the tree for Steve, Rosie and Angus. I've already ordered gifts for most of my friends and family online, or posted them off in good time.

My daughter Rosie has volunteered to be in charge of Christmas dinner as she is a brilliant cook, so I can't wait to put my feet up and watch her being busy in the kitchen. Rosie is going to do the whole traditional Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. There will be a seafood platter to start, and her special home-made Christmas cake. Angus has his own custom-made Christmas dinner from tails.com and we've got him some special toys and treats.

Of course, I will actually get up from the sofa and do the washing up before we take Angus out for a big walk to blow away the cobwebs after eating too much.
It's just going to be the four of us as I just don't want to risk travelling back to Scotland and potentially putting my mum and dad at risk. I would never forgive myself if I caught the virus going up in public transport, or driving up and having to stop at a service station. It's very sad but just not worth it.
Angus will have his own custom-made Christmas dinner
Like so many families this year, there will be a lot of emotional Zoom calls and heartfelt messages to one another on Christmas Day. I'm actually taking a couple of days off next week and so delighted that my wonderful friend Ranvir Singh will be presenting the show for me. She was such a joy to watch on Strictly and although I was disappointed she didn't make the final, Ranvir did herself proud and it was lovely to see her blossoming into a beautiful dancer.
The family plan to take Angus out for a long walk after Christmas dinner
There will also be a special Christmas Eve edition of the show hosted by the cheerful and chirpy Andi Peters and then I will be back for a wonderful Christmas Day extravaganza with lots of special guests and surprises. I will be on at 9am as usual just after GMB with Piers and Susanna and then handing over to Phil and Holly on This Morning.
If you are up early on Christmas Day I would really love to have your company and celebrate the festive season and I hope you have a very merry, safe and joyful time over the festive season.
Here's to a happier 2021!
