New year, new job for Naga Munchetty! On Sunday, the BBC Breakfast star took to Instagram ahead of her first day at BBC 5 Live, sharing a glimpse inside her work bag – including her BBC lanyard.

She wrote: "I've been sorting out my work bag & am ready to go back to the office... 1st day in a new job @bbc5live tomorrow. 10am to 1pm - Mon-weds.

"I get to work with a brilliant team and discuss stuff in our lives that matter with great guests and listeners. Can. Not. Wait. Hope you can join us. X."

Her fans and famous friends were quick to congratulate the star, with Dermot O'Leary writing: "Good luck Naga. X." Gethin Jones sweetly added, "Go well Naga x."

Naga shared a glimpse inside her work bag ahead of her first day

"Will miss you on BBC Breakfast :-(. Good luck with the new venture," one follower added, with another echoing: "Good luck with the new job, will miss you on breakfast TV x."

Despite some confusion following her latest post, Naga previously confirmed that she will continue to co-host BBC Breakfast with Charlie Stayt from Thursdays to Saturdays.

Speaking about her new radio gig, the 45-year-old said in a statement: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the 5 Live team. I have always wanted to work more in radio and after such an enjoyable experience presenting on the station recently, I jumped at this opportunity.

"5 Live has one of the most passionate, engaged audiences in radio. The prospect of talking to those listeners every week really excites me. I can't wait to get stuck into the role from January."

The popular presenter joined the BBC in 2008 presenting business news programme, Working Lunch. She became one of BBC Breakfast's lead presenters in 2014.

Her first day at 5 Live comes after Naga delighted fans with a look inside her Christmas Day celebrations. Taking to Instagram, Naga posted a sweet video of her cat Bella relaxing, which she captioned: “Post food cuddle. Sending Love X."
