Dancing on Ice star Phillip Schofield reflects on sad death

It will soon be the second anniversary of the celebrity bodyguard's passing

It's coming up to two years since Phillip Schofield mourned the passing of his close friend and former colleague Jerry Judge, who died at the age of 72.

Paying a touching tribute to his late friend in April 2019, the Dancing on Ice presenter shared an emotional tweet with a photo of the celebrity bodyguard, writing at the time: "I'm so sad to hear that Jerry Judge has passed away. The best and kindest showbiz bodyguard in the business.

"We had such fun back in the day, the only guy who could get Sinatra out of a bar. Love to his family and friends." TV presenter Andi Peters had also shared his condolences in response to Phillip's message, saying: "God Bless him. A warm and welcoming face to see."

Jerry had also been a bodyguard for celebrities including Johnny Depp, Paul McCartney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Antonio Banderas and Julia Roberts. During his 20 years working with Johnny, Jerry managed to get a cameo in Sweeney Todd and he appeared in several episodes of Dr. Who between 1979 and 1984.

At the time, a spokesperson from Jerry's company Music & Arts Security Ltd also released a touching statement at the time of his death, writing: "Music & Arts Founder and Managing Director sadly passed away today. #JerryJudge you were #mrsecurity in the #Entertainment business in the UK a one-off, nice guy, heart as big as a lion great friend over many years #RIP bud will never be forgotten."

Meanwhile, Phillip is now back by the side of the ice rink on Sundays alongside co-host Holly Willoughby as this year's remaining celebrities fight for their place in the competition.
