While creating her new single, Let Me Reintroduce Myself, she said she feared people would think of her as a relic.

"At the beginning of this process, I feel like I had to make excuses for why I wanted to make new music," she told EW. "I felt like people were going to judge me and be like, 'Well, you're like super old. Why would you even want to?'

"This is just how my brain works. Anyone would, you know what I mean? Everybody has their own fears or insecurities."

Gwen feared her fans would think she was too old to make new music

Gwen credits music for helping maintain her mental health and said when she split from her husband - the father of her three children - Gavin Rossdale it was what got her through.

"Five years ago, when my life blew up in my face, there was a lot of looking back," she said. "Music has always been a really amazing place to pour my heart and emotions into. It's like therapy."

Now, she's making sweet music with her future husband, Blake Shelton, and life could not be better.

Gwen and Blake are engaged to be married

They got engaged in October 2020, but their nuptials have been put on hold due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Gwen recently opened up about it on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.

"I would say I just want my parents there at this point," the singer said. "My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they’re so scared so really would rather it not be a COVID situation.

Gwen admits she has insecurities too

"I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing. Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s too many people for COVID so we’re sort of going to see what happens in the next few months."

When the wedding does take place it’s likely to happen at their Oklahoma Ranch, where Blake proposed.

Gwen has gushed about how much she loves the property and its country surroundings and her three sons adore it too.
