There are many first-time nominees at this year's Golden Globe Awards. There are also many stars who are up for awards who are seasoned pros and have been attending the show for years, if not decades.
The awards kick off red carpet season, and while this year will be much different from many in the past due to COVID-19, we've no doubt Hollywood's brightest are very much looking forward to an evening of celebration – we all need it, after all!
With that in mind, we thought we'd take a trip down memory lane and give you a bit of a blast from the past before the show starts.

The Ratched star (far right) is up for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television at the 2021 Golden Globes.

Donald Sutherland, 1992
The Saint John, N.B. native made his debut at the 49th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
At 85, he is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for the sixth time for The Undoing.

Dev Patel, 2009
A baby-faced Dev joined Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle and co-star Freida Pinto.
His performance in The Personal History of David Copperfield earned him a Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy nomination in 2021.

Hugh Grant, 1995
All eyes were on Hugh and Elizabeth Hurley when the couple stepped onto the red carpet that year.
In 2021, the British actor is nominated for The Undoing for Best Performance by an Actor.

Bryan Cranston, 2003
Long before Breaking Bad, Bryan first attended the Globes with his wife Robin Dearden.

Don Cheadle, 1999
The actor stepped out to the Golden Globes for the first time in 1999 and picked up the Best Supporting Actor - Television award for The Rat Pack.

The Emily in Paris star looked absolutely adorable with her blonde curls at the awards over 20 years ago with dad Phil Collins, where he won for Best Original Song for "You'll Be In My Heart."

Michelle looked so elegant when she posed with her Best Actress gong at the 47th Annual Golden Globe Awards for The Fabulous Baker Boys.
More than 30 years later, she is nominated in the same category for French Exit.

Jodie Comer, 2019
Jodie made her debut with her Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh. The two made quite the impression in contrasting gowns that were a nod to their characters' personalities.

Gillian Anderson, 1995
A ginger-haired Gillian looks very different compared to her The Crown character, Margaret Thatcher. That's the role for which she received her Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television this year.
Back at the 52nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, Gillian was with her The X Files co-star David Duchovny. It was the first Golden Globes for both of them.
