"That happy tail," commented Food Network host Sunny Anderson as fans commented with heart emojis, calling the pup "so cute".
Al adopted Pepper when she was a 10-week-old puppy from Pennsylvania’s Main Line Animal Rescue.

He told People magazine in 2019 that his son Nick, who was 10 at the time, "was very afraid of dogs, but when he saw Pepper she just came right to him and he squatted down and joined her".
"That kind of sealed the deal," he added. "I was one of those people who said the dog’s not supposed to be sleeping with you,” he added. "And of course she sleeps on the bed now. The foot of the bed! But still. She’s been slowly working her way up."
Earlier in 2021 Al's wife Deborah Roberts shared the heartbreaking update that she had to undergo dental surgery, but Pepper was making the most of the attention and demanding cuddles.

"My girl had dental surgery today and refuses to be left alone in her misery," she captioned the image.
"I thought my days of holding babies was over. Guess not! Poor pepper. #doggie #love."
Al and Deborah have two children together, Leila and Nick, while Al is also dad to daughter Courtney from his first marriage.

They are incredibly proud parents and are close to their children and on Father’s Day Leila - who is a freelance journalist and lives in France - paid a touching tribute to her dad.
"Happy Father’s Day to the best Dad I could ever ask for," she wrote. "Thank you for supporting me in everything I do, sending me the coolest letters around town, and always looking for ways to help others. Love you, Pappers!"
