Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland has shared a sweet message she received from a fan praising her father following the shocking set shooting.

"Amongst some of the most abhorrent and threatening comments, emails, text messages, and voicemails I've been getting... this beautiful comment stands alone," Ireland wrote on Instagram alongside a screen grab of the fan message.

"I know my dad, you simply don't. I love you, Dad."
The message read: "So about a million years ago I was working in the production office in Toronto of the company that was making the Thomas the Tank Engine movie that [Alec] did. I'd dealt with typing up some pretty goofy celebrity riders in my day but NOT your dad's.
"He only wanted to make sure he had milk and cereal in his hotel room for when his daughter was visiting. That was it. That was the whole rider. I'll always remember that."
On 21 October Alec was named as the person who fired the prop gun that killed Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.
Ireland shared a message with fans
The actor was on set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe filming new movie Rust when the gun was discharged.
The Sheriff’s office said in a statement that cinematographer Halyna and Joel "were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor."
Halyna, 42, was transported by helicopter to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where she later passed away.

Joel, 48, was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, and has since left after being treated for his injuries.
Halyna's death was confirmed by the Sheriff’s office and by the International Cinematographers Guild, Local 600.
The film set has since been shut down, with production indefinitely paused, according to the film's production company, Rust Movie Productions LLC.

The detectives have since confirmed there was a live round in the gun that shot Halyna; no arrests have been made.
