Carrie Underwood had the surprise of a lifetime on Saturday as she was awarded by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with Platinum plaques for album Some Hearts and the song Before He Cheats.

The country superstar was performing at the Opry in Nashville when the RIAA walked out on stage to announce her debut album had been certified nine times platinum, and the single seven times.

"Carrie was surprised at the @Opry by the RIAA with new Platinum plaques celebrating her debut studio album, #SomeHearts, being certified 9x Platinum and her song, #BeforeHeCheats, reaching 7x Platinum!" her team shared with fans on social media Friday.
"What a surprise for RIAA’s #1 certified Country female artist for digital singles," the RIAA later shared.

The mom of two was rocking a gorgeous cream and emerald ball gown for the performance at the iconic Nashville venue, when Jackie Jones, RIAA Vice President, Artist & Industry Relations appeared on stage, leaving Carrie overcome with emotion.
"I feel like my mind is melting right now" she joked, adding: "I don't know what to do. Thank you to the fans for all of that, and all the people I have had the pleasure of working with over all these years. I feel very blessed."
Carrie was surprised with the news
"On your way to diamond," commented one fan on the post as others praised the singer for her accomplishments.
"I was lucky enough to be there to see this presentation!! Love you Carrie Underwood!!" shared another.
After winning American Idol and launching her career, she has already skyrocketed to the top of Gold and Platinum history with over 70 million certifications.

The RIAA also confirmed she continues her reign as the number one certified Country female artist in music history for digital singles.
With the certification of Some Hearts, Carrie now joins Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift as the only three Country artists to release and certify an album that high in the past 16 years.
Before He Cheats is the 11th Country song to achieve seven times Platinum.
