The pair wed in 2014 and are parents to twins Alexander and Ella, but George - who likes to keep his personal life private - revealed some surprising tidbits of information about home life with his family in a new interview.

Speaking to the Guardian, George shared how his wife's last two clients, Maria Ressa and Nadia Murad, had each won the Nobel peace prize and that she has helped many journalists be released from jail, before also sharing that Amal also watched the emergency department drama because she has never seen it before.

George and Amal are known for protecting the privacy of their children, be it in England at their Berkshire riverside home or at George's luxury villa on Lake Como in Italy, where the family spend the summer months.

However, in the interview, the actor also opened up on how the pair decided on normal names for their children to give them a little normality in their unusual lives, and how they parent the two.

"Their lives are going to be unusual, right? There’s no denying that. So let’s give them a head start by giving them normal names," he shared, adding: "We don’t [have nannies] because it’s so important to Amal [to be involved].\

The couple prefer to keep their children out of the limelight

"We have a nanny four days a week and the rest of the time it’s just us. And during lockdown, it was just us – for a full year! I felt like my mother in 1964, doing dishes and six loads of laundry a day."

The Ocean's Eleven star's comments come after he recently revealed how he didn't see children in his future before he tied the knot in 2014.

"Listen, I didn't want to get married. I didn't want to have kids," the 60-year-old confessed on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast.

"And then this extraordinary human being walked into my life, and I just fell madly in love. Then I knew from the minute I met her that everything was going to be different."
