Kate Beckinsale has wowed fans after sharing a picture that reveals she can still fit into childhood clothes.The actress returned home for the holiday season and revealed that her mom had found a Carmen Miranda costume from 1982.

Kate then decided to try the costume on - and lo and behold, she could just about squeeze into it. The black dress had been decorated with bright-colored pom-poms to imitate the bold flamenco-style dress Carmen wore, but Kate paired the short dress with her own black denim skirt and a black bra.

Alongside the new picture Kate also shared a snap taken from 1982 of her in the costume, where she also accessorized with Camen's large fruit-covered headpiece.
She captioned the post with a funny quip about her step-father Roy Battersby, who was snapped in the corner of the 2021 picture holding his nose: "Roy weirdly unexcited about my Carmen Miranda costume from 1982 still sort of fitting.

"Possibly depressed that we no longer have the hat, possibly wind -we just don’t know."
Fans and friends loved the look though, with one simply writing: "FASHION," and another: "Toooooo cute."

Others however joked that perhaps Roy was looking a "bit guilty, like he knows he's worn the costume and was the one who lost the hat".
Kate has been back with her mother Judy and step-father since November after surprising them following a two-year absence.

The actress shared a clip on her Instagram of her standing outside her parents' house in the dark while her friend filmed her, as she revealed that they thought she was still in Los Angeles.
She then rang the doorbell which her step-father answered, initially unable to make out who it was in the dark. However, once he realized it was Kate, he started laughing out of happiness.
Eventually, her mother came out as well and started emotionally laughing out of shock and joy upon seeing her daughter after so long.
Kate reunited with her parents after being apart for two years
In the caption for the heartwarming video, she wrote: "Surprise successfully executed after two years of not being together."
"My mum thought my stepdad was being mugged and thankfully did not seize a poker and strike me...Once we got inside she stopped shrieking and said 'Hecky thump I'm going to have to have a pumpkin seed,'" she concluded.
"All is well in our world now. So thankful."
