GMA star Michael Strahan was supported by his legion of loyal fans as he took to social media to share news of the sad loss of NFL hero John Madden.

Sharing two pictures depicting the late NFL coaching and broadcasting legend, Michael was clearly emotional as he paid tribute to the man who died on Tuesday, aged 85.

"John Madden was an @nfl legend. When you played, and John Madden was on the call, it was time to shine!" he wrote. "RIP John Madden. Your legacy will live on forever. Sending my love and prayers to his family and loved ones," he continued, adding a heart emoji.
Michael's tribute to John was posted late on Tuesday
Fans were quick to react, sending their support and reiterating his tributes. "We send you our Prayers and condolences," wrote one. "Heartbreaking. I learned a lot about football because of him. Condolences to his family" wrote another.
Michael has had a busy festive season, spending Christmas Day working as he covered the football on Fox TV. But despite his busy schedule he's also found some time for relaxing.

The Good Morning America star shared the cutest picture of himself and his family in a great set of matching holiday PJs. But while his whole family were dressed in matchy-matchy candy-striped pajamas, it was their adorable family dog Enzo who fans thought really stole the moment.

The family lineup included Michael's teenage twin daughters Isabella and Sophia, but little Enzo truly made fans' hearts melt looking proud in his own doggie holiday PJs by PajamaGram.
"Love the picture with Enzo," wrote one fan, as the comments on the post immediately started rolling in, with remarks ranging from "Awwww enzooo!!!!" to "Here for Enzo’s matching outfit."
