Amy Robach had another reason to celebrate so soon after Christmas as her oldest daughter Ava turned 19 on Wednesday.

The Good Morning America star marked the special occasion with a heartfelt tribute to her firstborn on Instagram, alongside some never-before-seen family photos.
"To the first girl I fell madly in love with at first sight! Happy 19th birthday Ava Lou - I’m so proud to be your mama - and love celebrating the woman you are today and everyday!!" the TV journalist wrote alongside the pictures, which included one of Amy with Ava as a baby, and one of the pair in recent times.

Amy's GMA co-stars were quick to comment on the post, with Michael Strahan writing: "Happy birthday!!" alongside a series of celebratory emojis, while Lara Spencer wrote: "Happy birthday to the talented and beautiful Ava." Robin Roberts added: "Happy Birthday Ava!!"

The journalist shares Ava and youngest daughter Annie with her ex-husband Tim McIntosh. She is also stepmom to her husband Andrew Shue's three sons.
It's been an exciting year for Amy's daughter, who started college in September. Ava attends the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, close to her family's home in West Village.

When her daughter received her acceptance letter earlier in the year, Amy shared a photo of it on social media, alongside an emotional tribute to her firstborn.

In the message, Amy wrote: "My little girl just had her dreams (and mine) come true with an acceptance to @nyutisch today!!" Despite being incredibly proud of her daughter, Amy admitted that she struggled when it came to Ava moving out for college.

Just a week before Ava left, Amy shared on Instagram that she had struggled to complete a run, writing: "So much emotion in me with my oldest moving out in a week for college."

While Ava has now flown the nest, the teenager is as close as ever with her famous mom and enjoyed a ski trip to Colorado with her over the holidays.
