Savannah Guthrie went on a trip down memory lane this week as she reflected on the past 50 years.

The Today star took to Instagram on her milestone birthday to share a selection of photos, including an incredible throwback of her during a fishing trip.
In the picture, Savannah looked stylish dressed in a black sweater and pinstripe shorts, accessorised with a pair of statement sunglasses.

In the image, the mom-of-two looked delighted as she posed with the fish she had caught, as the clear blue sea reflected in the background.

The TV star's other pictures included one of her at the NBC studios, a photo of her enjoying a pamper day on her birthday, and some family snapshots featuring her husband, children, mom and sister.
Savannah also reflected on the devastating death of her father, who passed away aged 49. She wrote: "And not far from mine or heart ever ever: my dear daddy, Christmas baby like me. He never turned 50 from 49. But tonight I have!"

She added: "So I treasure the gift of life and remember you always. And thank god for a half century of his kindness and grace and blessing."

The TV star was inundated with messages from her Today co-stars as she marked her big day, with many paying tribute to her on their respective Instagram pages.
Jenna Bush Hager shared a selection of photos of them together, alongside the message: "My sister-wife, devoted friend, litigator of all things literally, dog-sweater-wearing, enthusiastic partier until 9pm turns 5-0 today.

Hoda Kotb shared a picture of them together, and wrote: "Happy 50th my sweet. Love to see you soar! @savannahguthrie."
Al Roker also posted a selection of photos of them together, including one of them in the hot tub. "I am so thrilled my dear friend @savannahguthrie is now halfway to a #smuckersjar I can’t wait to see what the next 50 bring!! #happybirthday Savvie G!!," he wrote.
Savannah responded: "Love you so. Our hot tub pic will never not make me smile."
