Katie Couric has added her voice to the outpouring of grief following the death of Bob Saget.

It was announced on Sunday that Full House star Bob had passed away suddenly at the age of 65. The actor was found unresponsive by staff at his room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Taking to Instagram in the wake of the news, Katie, 65, shared a throwback photo of the comedian, and wrote: "I was so shocked and saddened to hear that Full House star and comedian Bob Saget has died at the age of 65, according to the Orange County Sheriff's office. Detectives were called to the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando Sunday morning. They said they found no signs of foul play or drug use.

"Of course many of us remember him as Danny Tanner on Full House for eight years and on the sequel, Fuller House, from 2016-2020. After losing his sister, Gay Saget, to Scleroderma, he became a lifelong advocate for the autoimmune disease.

"Bob had kicked off a nationwide stand-up tour in September 2020 that was set to run through June of this year. (He was funny and often filthy on stage - the complete opposite of his tv persona.) His last performance was on Saturday in Jacksonville. One on one he was wonderful - funny, bright and incredibly charming. Just the nicest guy. Sending so much love and sympathy to his family and many friends."

Bob passed away suddenly at the age of 65

The exact details surrounding Bob's death remain unclear. But in a short statement posted to Twitter, the Sheriff's Department said that detectives had found no signs of foul play or drug use during initial enquiries.

"We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today," his family said in a statement. "He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter."
