Courteney Cox has made a very surprising admission about her 17-year-old daughter, Coco.

The actress shares her only child with ex-husband David Arquette; the former couple were married from 1999 until 2010 and have managed to maintain a close friendship.

In a new interview with Extra, Courteney confessed that Coco isn't the biggest fans of her parents' work – not least because she doesn't like to watch her mom or dad on screen.

Despite the fact that Courteney and David met on the set of the 1996 horror classes Scream, Coco has still only "seen part" of the movie, the actress revealed, noting that the teen also hasn't seen the franchise's upcoming fifth instalment.
Courteney's daughter is set to follow her parents into the world of acting
"She doesn't like to watch anything we do," the 57-year-old confided. "I'm gonna make her watch this one with her eyes open… I didn't watch most of this film. I hear it's really good."

Nevertheless, it seems Coco will be following in her parents' footsteps. Asked if Coco had been bitten by the acting bug, Courteney replied: "Oh for sure. Although she is tortured by me saying, 'Can we do something for Instagram?' or 'Can I film this?'
Courteney and David have remained good friends following their divorce
"She doesn't like it at all. She gets really mad, and I have to negotiate. I use her for Instagram," the star continued. "And she knows it, and she really rebels. But since she's going to be in the business, I know. She'll have to get used to some eyes on her."
The new Scream movie is due to be released worldwide on January 14 and sees Courteney and David reunite on screen as reporter Gale Weathers and Officer Dewey Riley.
Coco is the eldest of David's three children
Speaking about their time together on set, David recently told the New York Times: "It's a cathartic experience to just be able to act opposite Courteney. It's been 25 years of our lives. We've grown up together. We have a child together."
It was during the filming of the first Scream film in 1996 that the pair first met. They dated for four years before tying the knot in 1999. The couple announced their separation in 2010, not long after production on Scream 4 ended. David filed for divorce in 2012, which was finalised a year later.
