Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift go head to head at 2022 Billboard Awards

Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift will go head to head as the only three nominees for Top Country Female Artist at the 2022 Billboard Awards.

The annual ceremony will take place in Las Vegas on May 15, and this year's nominees include The Weeknd who is nominated for an incredible 17 awards including Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top 100 Artist.

Doja Cat is the leading female artist as a finalist in 14 categories, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top 100 Artist. First-time nominee Olivia Rodrigo was named in 13 categories total — including Top New Artist, Top Female Artist and Top 100 Artist — and her album SOUR is a finalist for Top Billboard 200 album along with Adele's 30 and Morgan Wallen's Dangerous: The Double Album.

Carrie is up for four including Top Christian Artist, and Miranda is also nomnated for Top Rock Song for her duet with Elle King.

Drake holds the record for most number of Billboard wins ever with 29, and he is nominated for 11 this year, but if he wins none and Taylor Swift wins five of the seven she is up for, she may take that record.

Top Country Artist nominees this year are Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Morgan, Walker Hayes and Taylor. Chris, Luke and Morgan are also up for Top Country Male Artist, while Dan+Shay, Florida Georgia Line and Zac Brown Band are up for Top Country Duo/Group.

Carrie is up for four awards

Five new categories have been introduced to the award show this year: Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, and Top Billboard Global Excl U.S. Song.
