GMA's Robin Roberts says she's 'so grateful' as she makes career announcement

The star has been with Good Morning America since 1995

Robin Roberts had a heartfelt message for fans on Friday when she revealed some news away from her GMA hosting gig. 

The popular TV personality thanked her viewers with an emotional message as she shared news of her Daytime Emmy nominations for her Disney show, Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts

Taking to her Instagram stories, she reposted the message from her production company which announced: "JUST IN: #TurningTheTables has been nominated for TWO #DaytimeEmmys! Outstanding Informative Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host."

Fans rushed to congratulate her and commented: "Congratulations Robin! This is wonderful! It was a beautiful show. I hope there will be more episodes," and,

"Congratulations on your being nominated for 2!!!!!! Wow so deserving of it YOU WORK SO HARD," and a third added: "Love that show".

Robin wrote a message which read: "Proud does not begin to express my emotions for our entire phenomenal #TurningTheTables team!!! Immensely grateful to all for this recognition."

Robin said she was so proud and grateful for the Daytime Emmy Nominations

The news comes at a difficult time for Robin whose partner, Amber Laign is battling breast cancer. 

The Good Morning America star - who has fought cancer twice - made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new book, Brighter By the Day, recently and opened up about the diagnosis.

"I haven't talked about it much, but with you I will," she said, clearly choked up.

Robin is helping her partner Amber through her breast cancer treatment 

"She's doing well, which is great," she shared. "I went through it twice, barely shed a tear. I'm a puddle every time I think about what Amber is going through."

The morning news personality did add that Amber was pulling through well and that the prognosis was ultimately good given that they'd caught the cancer early.

Robin added: "I didn't realize how much I had blocked out during my journey, and it was because of sweet Amber, because she protected me and she navigated for me. So I'm doing the same thing for her."
