The star recently stopped by Seth Meyers' late night talk show, and opened up about how a near outing to see A Strange Loop on Broadway with her child, Birdie, almost took a very awkward turn.

The actress recalled to the host how she had been so excited to see the show, and when she realized her good friend and co-star Sara Bareilles was there, she texted her to let her know she was going with Birdie.

While the Broadway star surely appreciated the heads up, she was so concerned about Birdie coming and seeing some rather explicit scenes, she immediately called the mom-of-two.

She quickly told her: "Do you know what it's about babe? It's, like, pretty mature…" However, the White Chicks star didn't back down, saying: "Well Birdie's like a teenager, it's going to be fine."

This prompted the singer to make things explicitly clear, admitting that in the very first song the cast announces that there would be a sex scene on stage, and Busy went on to hilariously announce to Late Night viewers: "They deliver! They don't disappoint!"

The hilarious almost-disaster

She went on to recall to Seth her struggle over how to handle the situation, saying: "I had this whole dilemma," and joking how Birdie does watch Bridgerton, but not with her.

Eventually she lucked out, resolving to a "communication is key" method, and as soon as she told her child exactly what they could expect, Birdie saved both of them from the infamously awkward moment of having to watch a sex scene with your parent, telling her: "Yeah, no, we're good, I'm not going to go to that with you."

Though Birdie may not have gotten to see the musical, they've still attended plenty other events with their mom

Busy had previously shared with her followers that she had gone to see the show and raved about it, writing: "Beyond brilliant – I am SO GRATEFUL I GOT TO SEE THIS LAST NIGHT."

The trippy musical was written by Michael R. Jackson and features an inception like plot, which follows Usher, a Black, queer writer, writing a musical about a Black, queer writer, writing a musical about a Black, queer writer, and on and on it goes.
