Millie Bobby Brown may now be a household name with a bulging bank balance, but life wasn't always so golden for the Stranger Things star.
The actress, 18, burst onto the scene after landing the role as Eleven in the Netflix show, however, it was a slog to get to where she is today.

As a youngster, Millie was determined to break into the entertainment industry, so much so that her parents sold everything to move from London and start a life in Hollywood.

They were barely making ends meet and had to borrow money to continue pursuing Millie's dreams.
Speaking to the Daily Mail when she was only 12-years-old, the star revealed: "It was very hard. There were lots of tears along the way."

So much so that her sibling couldn't take the pressure and returned to the UK. "My older sister left. She didn't want to do it [America] any more," Millie admitted. "It was tears, tears, tears. We went through tough times."

Unable to break the tough industry, the youngster and her parents also moved back to England. "I was devastated," she confessed. "I wasn’t getting work. I thought I was done."
While in England, a casting agent was so mean to her during an audition that she made Millie cry. It was later that day that she went for the part in Stranger Things, and her earlier experience worked in her favor.

"I had to cry in the audition," Millie explained. "My emotions were so raw, I hit it out of the park."
Millie's big break came with Stranger Things
Her life was turned upside down as she flew to Atlanta to shoot the project which has become a huge success and the rest is history.
Millie's parents are still her biggest fans and while they stay out of the limelight, their daughter is very much front and center, thanks to their dedication.
