Dressed in character as Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson, the two were walking with Lea as Rachel holding a bouquet of flowers. Alongside the snap Lea added a heart emoji.

Lea and Cory were in a relationship at the time of his death; he died at the age of 31 after a drug overdose in a Vancouver hotel.

Cory had voluntarily entered rehab for substance abuse problems only months before. In the years after his death Lea has also kept his memory alive with a tattoo of the number five; his character's football jersey number in the show.

The show was still on air and it paid tribute to Cory with an episode that began with the news that his character Finn had died, and followed through with the characters remembering and honoring him.

Lea shared a sweet tribute

In the April before his death Cory voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction.

"I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this," Lea shared when Cory chose to enter rehab. "I am grateful and proud he made this decision."

The couple had taken their romance public a year earlier and were often spotted together at ice hockey games.

Lea's latest tribute comes after she celebrated big news, revealing that she would be replacing Beanie Feldstein in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl.

American Crime Story star Beanie announced on Instagram on Sunday that she is stepping down from her role as Fanny Brice – made famous by Barbara Streisand – two months early after "production decided to take the show in a different direction".

Lea has long wanted to appear on the stage in the role, even singing the show's famous song Don't Rain On My Parade in an episode of Glee.
